Janvi

I had a job in the UK. Then I didn’t.

Redundancy hit, and the clock started ticking on my visa.

I came to the UK for exposure and growth. Took a loan. Took a leap.

Halfway through my MSc, I started job hunting with hope in one hand and a Google Sheet in the other.

Time was tight, but I made a plan.

Every hour was scheduled like my future depended on it because it did.

1,000 applications. 10 interviews. 3 final rounds. 2 offers.

In 2024, things started looking up. I landed both part-time and full-time roles in the UK. But it didn’t last.

Redundancy came without warning. Visa pressure piled up. I couldn’t find a sponsor in time. And just like that, I had to leave the UK.

No job. No plan. Just a growing sense of "what now?"

Back in India, I gave myself one rule - don’t settle emotionally, even if you have to settle financially.

In January 2025, I joined Unimad. It became my strategy lab.

The CV and LinkedIn optimisation helped me present myself clearly and professionally.

Unibot’s personalised drafts turned each application into a targeted message.

For the first time, my profile reflected not who I had been, but who I wanted to become.

Three months later, I landed a job. Not my dream role, but a step in the right direction.

You can do everything right and still lose.

But losing is not the same as being lost.

Career paths aren’t always linear. They sometimes twist, pause, or move across borders.

That doesn’t make them any less valuable.

So, reflect honestly. Know what you’re working toward.

Network smartly. Find the right people, not just more people.

Stay active. On LinkedIn, in your job search, and in your self-belief.

I came to the UK looking for growth. I found resilience in India.

This isn’t the end of my journey.

This is my new beginning.

And with Unimad by my side, it only gets better from here.
