I didn’t come to the UK with a backup plan. Just a dream. And a loan.

When I arrived, I thought I was mentally prepared for the job hunt. But, I wasn’t even close.

I waited until my final results to start applying.

No part-time job. No early head-start. Just full focus on the job search. But the results were definitely bad.

Over 700 applications. 15 interviews. 2 final offers.

Like many, my inbox was filled with more “unfortunately” emails than I’d care to count too.

The hardest part? Staying calm when everything felt stuck.

I kept applying, rewriting, adjusting. But something still wasn’t clicking.

That’s when I found Unimad. And more specifically, the Cover Letter Builder.

Until then, I didn’t actually know what a strong UK-style cover letter looked like.

Once I saw the format, the structure, the way it helped me speak directly to the role, everything changed.

It wasn’t magic. But it made my effort finally feel like it had a direction.

I also started reaching out to people I didn’t know. Just to learn, to connect, to get seen.

That part scared me. But it’s what landed me the job.

Networking works. Especially in the UK.

It’s uncomfortable, yes. But it’s what turns a stranger into a referral.

Remember not lose yourself to the silence. The job will come. Just don’t let the search take away your spirit.
